Madge is the only networking vendor that has developed
its own core switching technology for Ethernet, ISDN, Token Ring
and ATM networks, providing superior functionality and performance
compared to off-the-shelf chip sets. With Madge's in-house development
strategy, the company maintains control and quality as well as
ensures component compatibility.
Madge is recognized for excellence in areas ranging from the desktop
to enterprise platform hubs, as well as for Token Ring-to-ATM
and Ethernet-to-ATM access, and ATM, Ethernet, Token Ring, and
WAN switching. As an active member of the ATM Forum, Madge co-authored
the LAN emulation (LANE) specification for legacy systems with
ATM networks. Madge has in-house developed ATM access and switch
devices, many of which are licensed by industry partners for resale.
