                                             ------------------------

Introduction
------------
This file provides information on how to use the utility, MVER.EXE.

MVER.EXE is a program that provides version information about any
Madge driver or utility that you specify (from LSS 5.0(0) or later).
It also provides additional information such as the name of a Madge
text file that documents the driver or utility.

As well as displaying information about a driver or utility, MVER
checks the integrity of the driver or utility and displays a warning
if has been corrupted.

Finally, MVER sets two envrionment variables (see below).

Running MVER.EXE
--------------
MVER.EXE is a family mode program, and will therefore run as a native
application under both DOS and OS/2.

Usage: MVER [target file]

You can run MVER with or without specifying the target file on the
command line. If you do not specify it, the program prompts you for
the name of the file that you want information about.

The two environment variables that MVER adds to the list of DOS
environment variables are:

 i) MDGVER which contains information about the version of the driver.
ii) MDGLSS which contains information about the particular release of
the Madge software that the driver belongs to.

If you type /? on the command line, the program displays a help
screen.
