OS/2 Improvements

LSS 5.0 provides an improved Fastmac Plus based NDIS2 driver for OS/2 (MDGND.OS2), which supersedes both the Fastmac and Fastmac Plus NDIS2 drivers provided on LSS 4.3(2). This new driver, provides increased operating system support, from OS/2 v1.3 through to OS/2 Warp Connect, and Warp Server, and provides better throughput.

LSS 5.0 provides an improved Fastmac Plus based NDIS2 driver for DOS (MDGND.DOS), which supersedes the Fastmac NDIS2 driver provided with LSS 4.3(2). This new driver provides better throughput in most environments, by the use of the faster Fastmac Plus technology.

New Utilities

LSS 5.0 provides added OS/2 support in three utilities:

Command line soft-configuration of adapters, with the TRCFGC.EXE utility. This utility may be run on both DOS and OS/2.
Driver identification, with the MVER.EXE utility, which provides information about any LS 5.0 driver/utilitiy (and many LSS 4.3(2) drivers/utilities). This utility may be run under both DOS and OS/2.
Adapter identification, with the IFADAP.EXE utility, which may, for example, be used in a two-stage installation process. This is a separate utility for OS/2.
