Hardware Troubleshooting

Hardware Troubleshooting

  • Is the Ringnode correctly seated in an expansion slot?

  • Is your network cable securely attached to the Ringnode? Is the cable properly connected through to a concentrator or hub?

  • Does the diagnostics program stop with an error message? If so, follow the hints that the program gives you, make the modifications suggested, and try again.

    Check the:

    Interrupt setting
Ensure that this does not conflict with interrupts used by anything else in the PC.

    DMA setting
Ensure that this does not conflict with DMA settings used by anything else in the PC.

    Ring Speed
Ensure that this matches the speed of the network.

    Compatibility mode
Try using different compatibility modes. (For more information, refer to the Ringnode installation section for configuration options.)

    Software configuration
If you have changed any of the hardware switches on the AT Plus, run the configuration software. The AT Plus Ringnode is disabled until you do so.
