- Use SMARTROM.EXE to ensure that your Smartrom is programmed with
either MULTI.ROM or NRPL.ROM. If it is not, then reprogram it
using SMARTROM.EXE.
- Ensure that the Novell RPL.NLM is loaded on your NetWare Server and
that it is bound to the Server driver.
- Ensure that you have copied the Novell file RBOOT.RPL to the
server's SYS:\LOGIN directory.
- Ensure that an entry for your workstation exists in the
BOOTCONF.SYS file in your server's SYS:\LOGIN directory.
- If the initial download of the boot block is failing it may be
necessary to specify the ACK option in your BOOTCONF.SYS file or
as an argument to the RPL.NLM when you bind it to the server driver
on your server. This slows down the boot process and guarantees
that the server stays in touch with the workstation's progress as
it downloads the boot block.
- If you are remote booting OS/2 ensure that you specified the
SMARTROM.EXE option /NETWARE_OS2 when programming the Smartrom.
