The instructions in this section are for LAN WorkPlace for MS Windows and DOS version 5.0.

  2. When you have done this, run INSTALL from the LAN WorkPlace CD-ROM.
  3. At the end of the INSTALL program, either run the configuration software when prompted, or exit the program and run the LWPCFGD utility (this is stored in the directory C:\NET\BIN).
  4. In the Areas box, select Adapters.
  5. In the Network Connection box, select LAN or LAN and Serial.
  6. For Brand, select Generic ODI Adapter.
  7. Type the ODI Driver Name: MCBODI.
  8. For IP Frame, select TOKEN-RING_SNAP.
  9. For IPX Frame, select TOKEN-RING.
  10. Configure any of the other items in the Areas box that you need to configure.
  11. Press OK, save your configuration, and exit the program.
  12. Make sure that the Link Driver MCBODI section of your NET.CFG contains at least the following information:

    Link Driver MCBODI
    	Frame TOKEN-RING
    	Frame TOKEN-RING_SNAP
    	Protocol ipx E0 token-ring

  13. If you need source routing, you must load ROUTE.COM twice from STARTNET.BAT, once for IPX and once for TCP/IP. You must also bind the second instance of ROUTE.COM to BOARD=2.
