SECTION 3 Working Configurations for Windows 95
================================================

The information in this section applies to Microsoft Windows 95 OEM
Service Release versions 2, 2.1 (Build version 4.00.950 B).

Normally when a Madge 16/4 CardBus Adapter is inserted into the PC
Card slot of a portable computer running Windows 95 v4.00.950 B, the
adapter's resources are assigned automatically by the system.
However it has been observed that in some set-ups these resources
have been erroneously allocated, rendering the CardBus Adpater
inoperable and producing a device manager error code of 10 or 12.
The following configurations should enable you to overcome such
issues in the specified machines.

How to manually configure resources
-----------------------------------

1) In Device Manager, select the Madge CardBus adapter.
2) Click the properties button.
3) Click the resources tab.
4) Click on set Configuration manually button.
5) Remove "Use automatic settings" tick.
6) Click on resources and change the values to those detailed in
    the list below.
7) Restart PC .

Note : You may have to repeat the above process until you hit upon a
       configuration that works.

The Madge bulletin board system
-------------------------------
Madge Networks maintain 24 hour Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) that
provide the latest drivers, technical support information, and a
forum for quickly resolving problems with token-ring installations.
See below for BBS numbers.

You need a modem to access this BBS. Note that ideally you should
use an ANSI (VT100) terminal emulator (for example, PROCOMM) with
your serial port set to 8-bit data, NO parity check, and ONE stop
bit. The US BBS runs at up to 9600 baud while the UK BBS runs at up
to 14400 baud. Download protocols supported are X,Y, and Z modem.

The BBS is an open system so anyone can login. When you login, the
system prompts you for your name. If you are a new user, the system
asks if you have spelt your name correctly and then prompts you for
a password. As a new user, the system asks you a series of questions
including acknowledgement of the Madge BBS license agreement. These
only occur on your first login, therefore, answer as accurately as
possible. The BBS includes full online help.
