                                              -----------------------

Summary
-------

This file provides information on how to use the utility, MVER.EXE.
MVER.EXE is a family mode program, and will therefore run as a native
application under both DOS and OS/2 operating systems.

The utility is designed to work on a target file and checks the file's
integrity by way of a 16-bit CRC.

Note that this utility will display a command prompt if called
without any command-line parameters. At this stage, enter a Madge
filesname. Mver will display version details for that file. A help
screen is displayed when a /? switch is used on the command line.

Section 1) MVER.EXE
-------------------

Usage: MVER target file

This simply displays the list of version strings conforming to the
version standard. The strings are listed in a predetermined order and
the CRC is checked. In addition, this utility will add two environment
variables to the DOS environment variable list.
These are:

 i) MDGVER which contains the version information.
ii) MDGLSS which contains the LSS information.
