The Collage 155 PCI Adapter is a high performance, high efficiency ATM adapter that delivers the ultimate in performance for data intensive server and demanding client applications. These applications include distributed CAD/CAE and high resolution image retrieval such as those employed in the medical industry.

The adapter uses a high performance architecture and high-speed processor based silicon technology for Segmentation and Reassembly (SAR) together with well-tuned Madge Software to deliver unsurpassed ATM performance to the desktop.

Flexible traffic shaping (from 2kbps to 136Mbps) offers the ability to regulate transmission output to adhere to negotiated traffic speeds. Support for up to 1.024 virtual circuits will more than meet the needs of the most demanding new business applications.

Interoperability

The Collage 155 PCI Adapter offers seamless interoperability with the Collage Family of ATM switches and adapters and integrates into all major client-server environments. Driver support includes NT, NetWare, DOS and Windows.

Through Madge's commitment to ATM Forum standards for LAN Emulation and SVC signaling, users also benefit from interoperability with a wide range of standards-based routers and switches.

Industry leading LAN Emulation

Today's LAN applications are designed to run over a shared-media network such as Ethernet or Token Ring, ATM networks are connection-oriented. Madge's industry-leading LAN Emulation software, fully implementing the ATM Forum LAN software over ATM, and provides investment protection for today's legacy applications. Madge LAN Emulation software includes both Token Ring and Ethernet LEC, LECS, BUS and LES.

Efficient management and control

The Collage 155 PCI Adapter offers an easy-to-use management facility that allows user access to configuration management and network performance monitoring. Complete statistics may be displayed on an individual virtual channel or adapter level basis. Local control and configuration capabilities ensure efficient, trouble-free operation.
