Single Adapter Network Solution

The Smart 16/4 PCI Ringnode (Bus Master) offers comparable performance to EISA adapters at ISA price levels. This adapter is equally suited to high-end client and server applications, where data throughput and overall system performance are crucial considerations.

The adapter is supplied with a full complement of performance optimised Fastmac Plus drivers for all major operating systems. Also included is Madge's unique Smart Software, which provides unrivalled flexibility, memory savings and exceptional performance for multi-protocol DOS/Windows clients. Until recently, users found that EISA and Micro Channel super-servers were the best option for their most demanding server requirements. However, as PC vendors begin offering machines with PCI slots in place of EISA, those customers looking for simplicity and cost-effectiveness within their corporate networks can choose to use a single PCI solution for both clients and servers.

Diskless Booting via Smartrom

The Smart 16/4 PCI Ringnode (Bus Master) is equipped with a socket for an optional Smartrom, Madge's re-programmable remote boot ROM for RPL or Novell NetWare. Remote booting provides centralised management of PC boot files and supports disk-less workstations. Other benefits include improved security against viruses and data loss.

Madge Wizard

Madge Wizard, which is included with LSS 5.0, is the highly visual and intuitive DOS based software utility. Step by step instructions are provided for the quick and easy configuration of Smart Ringnodes. Madge Wizard gives customers the simplest and most reliable method to get network adapters working first time, straight out of the box.
