Smart II Software: backwards compatibility

For compatibility with earlier releases of the Madge Smart LAN Support Software, two batch files are provided. These use the SMTLINK.EXE program to generate executable files called SMARTIPX.EXE and SMARTLSP.EXE. Run SMARTIPX.BAT or SMARTLSP.BAT in the same directory as SMTLINK.EXE.

The batch files are for users who are replacing or reconfiguring a Smart 16/4 Ringnode with the Smart II Software, but who do not want to alter their AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS file.

                                                    LSP&IPX.CFG

SMARTIPX.BAT generates a SMARTIPX.EXE file by combining SMART.EXE with the IPX, NETB, and LLC protocol modules, and with LSP&IPX.CFG.

SMARTLSP.BAT generates a SMARTLSP.EXE file by combining SMART.EXE with the NETB and LLC protocol modules and with LSP&IPX.CFG.

When you run the batch files, they each display the components of the executable file they have created.
