Installing an optional ROM in a Madge Smart Ringnode

  1. Carefully take the ROM out of its packaging and check that all the pins are straight.

  2. Align the notch at one end of the ROM with the notch at one end of the socket.

  3. Insert the ROM carefully into its socket. Check that all the pins of the ROM fit into the socket correctly, and that none of them have been bent up underneath the ROM. This is a common cause of failure.

Caution

Double-check that the ROM is the correct way round. Inserting it the wrong way round will destroy the ROM and could also damage your Ringnode.

Refer to the installation instructions for your Ringnode for information about configuring your Ringnode to work with the ROM; then install the Ringnode in your computer, following the instructions in your hardware installation guide.
