Using Smart Software under NetWare

1. Copy EXTRACT.EXE from the \SMART directory on the Madge Release Disk 2 onto your hard disk.

2. EXTRACT.EXE is a self-extracting executable file containing SMART.EXE and all necessary .SMT files. Run Extract .

3. Run the NetWare Client INSTALL utility.

4. Select '5. Select the driver for your network board.'

5. Select Other Drivers. When prompted insert the Madge release disk.

6. Type the path to where EXTRACT was run as the path of the driver software. From the list of Madge Ringnodes, select the Ringnode you have installed. Continue through the program.

7. When you have finished, create a SMART.CFG file in the directory \NWCLIENT. To view a sample SMART.CFG file, click here.

8. Enable ODI and IPX from SMART.CFG.

9. Enable source routing if you require it (see the figure below).

10. Remove ROUTE from STARTNET.BAT.

11. Reboot the workstation.
