Installing the Smart ODI driver

1. Copy the EXTRACT.EXE file from the \SMART directory of the LAN Support Software Disk 2 onto your hard disk. This is a self-extracting executable file which contains all of the necessary Smart files. Run EXTRACT to unpack these files.

2. Run the Windows for Workgroups Network setup program.

3. In the Network Setup dialog box, click on Drivers.

4. Click on Remove, and remove any drivers and protocols currently installed on the Ringnode. (At this point, shut down and reboot, then run Network Setup again.)

5. Click on Add Adapter. (If you are installing the driver for the first time.)

6. Select Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter and type the path to where you ran Extract.

7. Select the Madge Ringnode installed in your computer.

8. Click on Setup.

9. Click on Driver Type.

10. Select ODI Driver.

11. Click on OK.

1. Copy SMART.EXE, SMART.CFG, and ODI.SMT from where you ran EXTRACT.

2. Edit SMART.CFG and enter:
   

   [HOST]
   win=31
   
   [card]
     [ODI]
