Installing Madge Winsock

Madge Winsock is an interface that allows Winsock version 1.1 compliant applications to use Madge Network's Smart TCP/IP stack.

You need to have Smart TCP/IP installed before you can install Madge Winsock.
During the Winsock installation process, Madge Winsock setup utility modifies the SMART.CFG file. The original SMART.CFG file is saved as a backup file.

To install the Madge Winsock program:

  1. Run the Madge Winsock setup utility, WSSETUP.EXE, from windows. The screen displays the Madge Winsock Install dialog box.

  2. Click on Continue. The screen displays the Madge Winsock Installation Options dialog box.

  3. Select Install Winsock. Click on Continue. The screen displays the Madge Winsock Install window.

  4. Enter the path of the directory containing the Smart TCP/IP files. Click on Continue.

  5. Enter the path you would like the setup utility to copy the Winsock Installation files.

  6. Click on Continue. The screen displays the Madge Winsock install dialog box. Madge Winsock is now installed.
