Installing the Fastmac Plus NDIS2 driver for OS/2 WarpConnect

Installing the Fastmac Plus NDIS2 driver for OS/2 WarpConnect

To install the driver for use with an existing OS/2 Warp Connect installation:

  1. Start the MPTS utility from its icon on the Desktop.

  2. Click on Install on the Multi-Protocol Transport Services dialog.

  3. In the Install Additional Network Drivers dialog, specify the pathname A:\OS2. Insert the Madge Client Disk 2 in the floppy drive, and depress the Ok button. Once the files have been copied to the hard disk, continue to select Ok until you are returned to the Multi-Protocol Transport Services dialog.

  4. Click on Configure. Then select Configure from the Configure dialog. This will invoke the LAPS Configuration dialog.

  5. Ensure that the Current Configuration list-box contains the Madge Fastmac Plus OS/2 NDIS MAC driver for Smart 16/4 Ringnodes item. If this item is not present, highlight the currently configured LAN driver in the Current Configuration box, highlight the Madge Fastmac Plus OS/2 NDIS MAC driver for Smart 16/4 Ringnodes driver in the Network Adapters box, and depress the Change button; depress the Yes button in the Change Network Adapter dialog.

  6. Click on Ok and then Close. Exit MPTS. A dialog will appear to inform you that CONFIG.SYS is being updated. When MPTS has finished executing, reboot the computer. OS/2 Warp Connect will now use the latest version of MDGND.OS2.
