Installing the UnixWare 1.x Driver

The driver supports following adapter cards:

Smart 16/4 AT Ringnode/Bridgenode
Smart 16/4 AT Plus Ringnode
Smart 16/4 ISA Client Ringnode
Smart 16/4 ISA Client Plus Ringnode
Smart 16/4 EISA Ringnode/Bridgenode
Smart 16/4 MC Ringnode/Bridgenode
Smart 16/4 MC32 Ringnode/Bridgenode

Before installing the driver, create an installation disk. To do this:

  1. Log into your Unixware system as the system owner.

  2. Copy the mdgunx1.img file from the Madge CD into the /tmp directory.

  3. Place a blank formatted 3.5-inch disk in drive A: and enter the command:
    dd if=/tmp/mdgunx1.img of=/dev/fd0

    This creates a installable version of the driver on the floppy disk.

    To install the driver:

    1. Log onto your Unixware system as the system owner.

    2. From the Desktop menu, select the System Setup icon.

    3. From the System Setup folder, select the Appl-n Setup icon.

    4. From the Appl-n Setup application, select Uninstalled Applications from the View menu, and then select Disk_A.

    5. Select the mtok icon, and then select Install from the Application menu.

    6. When you have completed the installation reboot your computer.
