Configuring the 32-bit Microsoft Data Link Control (DLC) interface over the Miniport driver, MDGMPORT.SYS.

To configure the 32-bit DLC interface over the Madge miniport driver:

  1. From the Windows 95 Control Panel, Click on the Network icon and select ADD.

  2. Highlight the Protocol option and click on Add. The screen displays the Select Network Protocol dialog box.

  3. Click on Have Disk... The screen displays the Install From Disk dialog box.

  4. Use Browse to select the directory where the 32-bit DLC drivers are stored (these drivers are available from your Microsoft reseller or from the Microsoft World Wide Web Site on the Internet), and click on OK.

  5. The Microsoft 32-bit DLC protocol should be shown at this point as the only option. Click on OK. The 32-bit DLC protocol is now shown under the NETWORK settings dialog box.

  6. To complete the network setup, click on OK from the main NETWORK menu, then follow the instructions given by Windows 95 for the drivers required.

  7. Shut down and restart Windows 95.

NoteEach time you change the Network driver or its configuration, you need to re-bind the DLC driver using the original driver software files. To do this, follow the instructions above.
