Before installing MDGMPORT.SYS

Driver installation for Madge Smart 16/4 Ringnodes under Windows 95 is controlled by a file called NETMADGE.INF. You can find this file in Windows 95 under the \WINDOWS\INF directory.

Before installing MDGMPORT.SYS complete any of the following:

• To upgrade to the new driver, MDGMPORT.SYS, copy the NETMADGE.INF file from the LSS Release Disk 2 into the \WINDOWS\INF directory. To do this, type the following at the DOS prompt:
  copy A:\NETMADGE.INF C:\WINDOWS\INF

• If you are installing a Madge Smart 16/4 Ringnode for the first time, return to the "Previous page" and see Installing MDGMPORT.SYS.
  If you are upgrading from an older version of the driver, return to the "Previous page" and see Upgrading from the driver distributed with Windows 95.
