Reconfiguring Transfer Type to MMIO

To configure the Transfer Type on your PCMCIA/PC Ringnode to MMIO:

  1. Click Start, Settings and Control Panel.

  2. Choose the Systems option from the Control Panel.

  3. Click on the Device Manager tab and highlight your adapter.

  4. Click on the Properties tab.

  5. Click on the Resources tab. Change the Basic Configuration to 0001.
  6. In the Conflicting Device List box make sure that there are no conflicts. If there is a conflict do the following:

    Highlight the Resource Type and click Change Settings. You see the Edit Input/Output Range Dialog Box. In the Value box change the value so that Conflict Information shows that devices are not conflicting. Click Ok.

  7. Click Ok again.

  8. Choose the Networks option from the Control panel. The screen displays the Network dialogue box.

  9. Highlight the Madge Smart adapter in the components list.

  10. Click on Properties. The screen displays the Properties dialogue box.

  11. Click on the Advanced tab. You will see a list of options that you can set. Highlight Transfer Type in the Property list. In the Value list highlight MMIO.

  12. Click Ok.

  13. Click Ok again.

  14. Windows 95 asks you to restart your computer. Click Yes.
