Installing the MDGMPORT.SYS driver for Windows NT

Installing the MDGMPORT.SYS driver for Windows NT

The Windows NT 3.5 and 3.51 driver is called MDGMPORT.SYS. It provides an NDIS Miniport interface for Windows NT 3.5 and 3.51. You can install the driver either during or after installation of Windows NT. If you are adding a server to an existing domain of servers, you must install the driver during installation of Advanced Server.

Note: If you are installing a Madge Ringnode for a non-Plug and Play ISA bus, then, before performing the instructions in this section, make a note of the IRQ number, I/O location, and DMA channel that the Ringnode is configured to use.

  • Installing MDGMPORT.SYS during Windows NT installation.

  • Installing MDGMPORT.SYS after Windows NT installation.

  • Ringnode mirroring for Windows NT.
You can make an unattended installation of Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 using the Miniport driver.

You can use the Madge Smart 16/4 PCMCIA Ringnode with Windows NT versions 3.51 and 4.0 (use the browsers back button to return to this page).
