Running TRCFGC.EXE using the menu

Running TRCFGC.EXE using the menu

Note: If you are installing a Ringnode with an unknown configuration, we recommend that you install the Ringnode into the computer, run TRCFGC.EXE, and restore the factory defaults by entering R at the menu screen. To confirm this, enter Y at the next prompt.

To configure your ringnode using the command-line configuration program, TRCFGC.EXE, follow the instructions below:

  1. Perform either of the following:

    • To configure your ringnode from the Smartrom, boot your system without using either the floppy disk or the hard disk. When prompted to run the configuration software, press F1.

    • To configure your Ringnode from the DOS prompt, type: TRCFGC

  2. The program detects and displays the addresses of any ringnodes in your computer. It then displays a prompt asking for the I/O address of the Ringnode you want to configure. Enter the I/O address of the Ringnode you want to configure. Otherwise, to exit from the program, press [ESCAPE].

  3. The screen displays the current settings of the Ringnode. To change a configuration setting, choose the letter corresponding to the parameter you want to change. To change more Ringnode parameters, repeat this step.

  4. To quit, and (optionally) update the configuration parameters, enter Q. The computer displays a prompt asking if you wish to update the configuration. To accept, answer Y.
