Installing the Smart 16/4 MC32 Ringnode

Warning: Always turn off the power to your computer before installing or removing any adapter cards.

Caution: Make sure that the ring speed you set matches the speed of your network. There is no default ring speed set on this Ringnode. To set the ring speed, use the reference diskette supplied with your computer in conjunction with the Micro Channel configuration file (ADF file) supplied.

Before you install the Ringnode, do the following:

Check that the Ringnode is bus compatible with your computer.
Read the handling precautions.
Check the type of cable that you are using. Make sure that you select the correct software setting (via the ADF file supplied) for the type of cabling that you wish to use.

Then insert the Ringnode into your computer, and connect it to a working token-ring network.

Configure the Ringnode using the reference diskette supplied with your computer in conjunction with the Micro Channel configuration file (ADF file) supplied.
