To find out whether the Ringnode is drawing power, insert the Ringnode without loading any network drivers. Then type TRPOWER [ENTER] at the prompt. If the utility indicates that the Ringnode is powered, run TRPOWER (from CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT) specifying the /OFF option whenever you boot your computer for non-network use. This means that, if you boot by accident with the Ringnode inserted, it uses no power.
To find out whether your Ringnode is powered, type TRPOWER [ENTER]
To turn off power to the PCMCIA Ringnode, type TRPOWER /OFF [ENTER]
To turn the power back on, type TRPOWER /ON [ENTER]
To see a list of command-line switches, type TRPOWER /? [ENTER]
To ensure that the Ringnode is powered off (by loading TRPOWER from CONFIG.SYS), include the following line in CONFIG.SYS (after the line that loads Card Services):
DEVICE=C:\MADGE\TRPOWER.EXE /OFF
To ensure that the Ringnode is powered off (by loading TRPOWER from AUTOEXEC.BAT), include the following line in AUTOEXEC.BAT:
C:\MADGE\TRPOWER /OFF
