Installing the Smart 16 Ringnode

Warning: Always turn off the power to your computer before installing or removing any adapter cards.

Caution: The ring speed for this Ringnode is 16Mbps, do not attempt to insert it into a network running at 4Mbps.

Before you install the Ringnode, do the following:

Check that the Ringnode is bus compatible with your computer.
Read the handling precautions.
Check the type of cable that you are using. There are two versions of the Smart 16 Ringnode: one version has an STP connector, and the other has a UTP connector.

Then insert the Ringnode into your computer, and connect it to a working token-ring network.

The only I/O location supported is 4A20, and the default IRQ is 3.
